PC BASED DC MOTOR SPEED AND DIRECTION CONTROL USING PWM AND BRIDGE
PC BASED DC MOTOR SPEED AND DIRECTION CONTROL USING PWM AND BRIDGE
ABSTRACT:
A pulse width modulator (PWM) is a device that may be used as an efficient DC motor speed controller or light dimmer. This project is a versatile device that can control DC devices which draw up to a few amps of current. The circuit may be used in either 12 or 24 Volt systems with only a few minor wiring changes. This device has been used to control the speed of the DC motor and to control brightness of an automotive tail lamp.
A PWM circuit works by making a square wave with a variable on-to-off ratio, the average on time may be varied from 0 to 100 percent. In this manner, a variable amount of power is transferred to the load.
The main advantage of a PWM circuit over a resistive power controller is the efficiency, at a 50% level, the PWM will use about 50% of full power, almost all of which is transferred to the load, a resistive controller at 50% load power would consume about 71% of full power, 50% of the power goes to the load and the other 21% is wasted heating the series resistor.
One additional advantage of pulse width modulation is that the pulses reach the full supply voltage and will produce more torque in a motor by being able to overcome the internal motor resistances more easily. Two push-to-on switches are provided for increasing / decreasing the speed of the motor.
Two more push-to-on switches are provided to rotate the motor in Clock wise / Counter clock wise direction. 16X2 LCD is connected to display the speed level of the motor and the direction. LED indication is also provided for visual indication.
A buzzer is provided for audio indication of DC motor speed variation and change in direction. Whenever the speed is increased / decreased, the system acknowledges by a short beep. This buzzer is driven by transistor driver circuit.
This project uses regulated 5V, 750mA & 12V, 500mA power supply. 7805 and 7812 three terminal voltage regulators are used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac out put of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.

SMS BASED PWM SPEED AND DIRECTION CONTROL OF DC MOTOR USING H BRIDGE AND GSM
SMS BASED PWM SPEED AND DIRECTION CONTROL OF DC MOTOR USING H BRIDGE AND GSM
ABSTRACT:
Nowadays there are various electronic equipments available for remote operation of electronic devices. But, the main disadvantage of these systems is that they can be operated only in short ranges and also less reliable. Thus, to overcome the above drawbacks, we are using one of the wireless communication technique i.e., GSM.
GSM(Global Systems for Mobile Communication) is vastly used because of its simplicity in both transmitter and receiver design, can operate at 900 or 1800MHZ band, faster, more reliable and globally network. Here the system is capable of controlling the motor by receiving control messages from an authorized mobile number. Microcontroller is the heart of our system, which controls the overall operation of our system. System always alert for receiving SMS from valid number then that particular messages are displayed on our LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) i.e., whether the motor should rotate in right shift or left shift with a speed of so and so.
We are using H-Bridge as an driver for our DC Motor because our Microcontroller cannot provide the maximum current to drive a DC Motor. GSM network operators have roaming facilities, user can often continue to use there mobile phones when they travel to other countries etc. In contrast, a microcontroller not only accepts the data as inputs but also manipulates it, interfaces the data with various devices, controls the data and thus finally gives the result.
This project uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply. 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac out put of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.

RFID BASED PATIENT INFORMATION SYSTEM
RFID BASED PATIENT INFORMATION SYSTEM
ABSTRACT:
RFID is an acronym for Radio Frequency Identification. This project is a standalone for detecting the missing tags in RFID system using AT89S52 microcontroller. This project is useful in all applications where more than two tags are there. RFID is increasingly used with biometric technologies for security. Primarily, the two main components involved in a Radio Frequency Identification system are the Transponder (tags that are attached to the object) and the Interrogator (RFID reader). Communication between the RFID reader and tags occurs wirelessly and generally doesnt require a line of sight between the devices.
RFID tags are categorized as either active or passive. This project uses passive tags. Read-only tags are typically passive and are programmed with a unique set of data (usually 32 to 128 bits) that cannot be modified. The reader has three main functions: energizing, demodulating and decoding. The antenna emits radio signals to activate the tag and to read and write data to it.
This Project helps the hospitals to maintain exact patient data and it can be easily recognized when ever the patient revisits the hospital. Here we are using AT89S52 controller as a control unit and 16x2 LCD is used to display the status. EEPROM is used to store the data.
This project uses regulated 5v, 750mA power supply. 7805, a three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of secondary of 230/12v step down transformer. The RFID module requires a separate +5v power supply.

RFID Based Library Automation System
RFID Based Library Automation System
RFID Library automation is a very innovative and interesting project that can play avital role in library automation. In this project, each student and each book are assigned with an RFID card. If a student wants to daw a book from the library, he has to swipe his Id card and then Book Id card. The system records the book transaction into the specified student account. Whenever he wants to return the book, he has to follow the same procedure. If the student reaches the maximum number of drawls of the books, the system alerts with a message on the LCD.
RFID is an acronym for Radio Frequency Identification. RFID is one member in the family of Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) technologies and is a fast and reliable means of identifying just about any material object. This project can be used for security purpose where it gives information about the authorized persons and unauthorized persons. This can be applied in real time systems as such in recording the attendance, in the companies, airports for accessing the passports and in industries to know who are authorized.
Active RFID tags are powered by an internal battery and are typically read /write, i.e., tag data can be rewritten and/or modified. An active tags memory size varies according to application requirements; some systems operate with up to 1MB of memory. Passive RFID tags operate without a separate external power source and obtain
operating power generated from the reader. This project uses passive tags. Read-only tags are typically passive and are programmed with a unique set of data (usually 32 to128 bits) that cannot be modified. The reader has three main functions: energizing, demodulating and decoding. The antenna emits radio signals to activate the tag and to read and write data to it.
The significant advantage of all types of RFID systems is the non contact, non-line-of-sight nature of the technology. Tags can be read through a variety of substances such as snow, fog, ice, paint, crusted grime, and other visually and environmentally challenging conditions, where barcodes or other optically read technologies would be useless. This project can provide security for the industries, companies, etc.
This project uses regulated 5v, 500mA power supply. 7805, a three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of secondary of 230/12v step down transformer. The RFID module requires a separate +5v power supply.

RFID Based Toll Tax System
RFID Based Toll Tax System
ABSTRACT:
RFID is an acronym for Radio Frequency Identification. This project is a standalone Automatic two door interlock control system for toll tax using AT89S52 microcontroller. This project is useful in all applications where two door interlocking is needed.
In this project, the RFID module reader typically contains a module (transmitter and receiver), a control unit and a coupling element (antenna). This module is interfaced with the micro controller and when the card is brought near to the RFID module it reads the data in the card and displays on the LCD.
The aim of this project is to atomize the toll tax collection on highways. RFID reader, tags are used in this project to identify the entry or exit of the vehicle. The RFID reader is placed at the toll tax collecting area and each and every vehicle is provided with a RFID card. Each and every time when we place the RFID card on the reader the current value (in Rs) in the card has to be stored in the EEPROM. Once we pay the tax through RFID card the value of the card get decremented which can shown on 16X2 LCD.
Initially the gate is closed. Whenever any vehicle comes in front of the entry gate, the reader detects the RFID card owned by the vehicle owner and certain value of amount is detected automatically which will be displayed on 16X2 LCD. By using serial communication the data will be processed by the microcontroller and opens the entry gate by rotating the DC motor. After some delay, the gate will be closed.
The user places the RFID card in the RFID reader for collecting the tax, then. Then the exit gate opens for the vehicle to leave. The microcontroller closes the gate only after the vehicle exits out .If certain amount is not there in the card then he/she can renewal the RFID card. Once the amount is successfully deducted from RFID card only the gate opens. And again the RFID reader will be waiting for the next vehicle to enter.
This project uses regulated 5v, 750mA power supply. 7805, a three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of secondary of 230/12v step down transformer. The RFID module requires a separate +5v power supply.

SOLAR BASED MOBILE CHARGER FOR RURAL AREAS WITH BATTERY VOLTAGE ANALYZER
SOLAR BASED MOBILE CHARGER FOR RURAL AREAS WITH BATTERY VOLTAGE ANALYZER
ABSTRACT
With the existing push in the direction of sustainable, clean sources of power, it is no surprise that solar power has become one of the most popular alternative energy sources. Free and available everywhere, the power of the sun can be employed to power everything like cell phones and MP3 player. The suns energy is usually harvested through solar panels that are made up of photovoltaic cells. These cells can convert the suns power into electricity that can be used for a number of purposes. For private use, a handheld solar hybrid charger can be employed to recharge little device for instance a MP3 player, a cell phone, or a camera.
A normal PN junction diode is used for unidirectional flow of charge current. The output of the solar panel depends on the intensity of the solar light. Use of embedded technology makes this system efficient and reliable. Micro controller (ATMega8 / 168 / 328) allows dynamic and faster control. Liquid crystal display (LCD) makes the system user-friendly. ARDUINO is the heart of the circuit as it controls all the functions.
In this project the usage of solar energy by using solar panels are used .A voltage sampler is interfaced with the system to get the voltage generated on a 16X2 LCD.
An alternative charger circuit is also provided to charge the mobile by house hold general purpose 230V in the absence of the sun light. This charge circuit uses regulated 5V, 750mA power supply. 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of secondary of 230/18V step down transformer.

SMS BASED WIRELESS ELECTRONIC NOTICE BOARD USING GSM CDMA 3G MOBILE PHONE
ABSTRACT:
Notice Board is primary thing in any institution / organization or public utility places like bus stations, railway stations and parks. But sticking various notices day-to-day is a difficult process. A separate person is required to take care of this notices display. This project deals about an advanced hi-tech wireless notice board.
The project is built around the AT89S52 micro controller from Atmel. This micro controller provides all the functionality of the display and wireless control. It also takes care of creating different display effects for given text.
Matrix type display is designed using 5mm LED on a printed circuit board. A driver circuit is designed to drive all these LEDs. A GSM/CDMA Mobile Can is used to enter the required text or notice. The scrolling speed of the text also can be changed according to user requirement.
After entering the text the SMS is sent to the no which is connected to the LED display. At any time the user can add or remove or alter the text according to his requirement.
At the receiving end the GSM modem which is connected to the Max 232 receives the message and is connected to the microcontroller AT89S52. The message which is already stored in the EEPROM is displayed on the LED Display.
This project uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply. 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac out put of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.

TRIAC BASED SOUND SCANNER FOR AUDIO CONTROLLED LOADS
TRIAC BASED SOUND SCANNER FOR AUDIO CONTROLLED LOADS
ABSTRACT:
Now a days in many discotheques we find people dancing to the music which is common, trying for a difference we designed our project in such a way that the lights flicker according to the music. In this way, we can provide some more entertainment and attraction to the area where it is installed.
Some mains operated audio controlled light can be used in discotheques. The lamps glow in a running sequence as per the sound generated. When music is played, the lights start running through the lamps. Ten AC lamps are connected to the circuit. Only one lamp glows at a time when there is no sound/music.
In this circuit a condenser mic is used which converts audio signals to electrical signals. These electrical signals from the microphone are fed to the transistor which amplifies the microphone signals and also provides clock pulses to the decade counter IC1 CD4017.A preset is provided to vary the signal level. As the decade counter has a total of ten counts, the pin corresponding to tenth count is connected to reset pin of IC1. One of the outputs of IC1 is fed to the clock pin of IC2 CD4017. The outputs of IC2 CD4017 drive transistors to provide triggering pulses to triacs.
The triac we are using is BT136, which is a 3-terminal device. In this triac, the first two pins are the terminal1 and terminal 2 and the third pin is the gate terminal. In this circuit, the triacs drive the AC lamps. In a triac when gate terminal is triggered then the triac turns ON which in turn powers up the load. Hence now we can see the lights running with the sound of music.

RFID BASED ATTENDANCE SYSTEM
RFID BASED ATTENDANCE SYSTEM
ABSTRACT
RFID is an acronym for Radio Frequency Identification. RFID is one member in the family of Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) technologies and is a fast and reliable means of identifying just about any material object. This project can be applied in real time applications such as for recording the attendance. This system can be used in big companies, industries, colleges, schools, etc where there are many numbers of candidates available. This system helps us in recording the attendance of a person easily within fraction of seconds.
Active RFID tags are powered by an internal battery and are typically read/write, i.e., tag data can be rewritten and/or modified. An active tags memory size varies according to application requirements; some systems operate with up to 1MB of memory. Passive RFID tags operate without a separate external power source and obtain operating power generated from the reader.
In this project, the RFID module reader typically contains a module (transmitter and receiver), a control unit and a coupling element (antenna). This module is interfaced with the micro controller and when the card is brought near to the RFID module it reads the data in the card and displays on the LCD.
If the data in the card is matched with the data in the program memory then it compares with that ID code and displays as ID FOUND along with his/her name on the LCD. After it displays it records the time at which the person has entered into the premises using real time clock (RTC) DS-1307. If the data is not matched then it simply displays as ID NOT FOUND.
In this project as we are using an RTC, to set the current time there are two switches provided one for entering and the other for incrementing. Then next one more switch is provided for checking the list of the candidates present. For the data not matched it alerts a person through a buzzer. The RFID module indicates a buzzer whenever it reads the data from the RFID card.
Hence this project can be very much useful and can be implemented in real time applications for recording the attendance and calculate late comers in the School and Collages.
This project uses regulated 5v, 500mA power supply. 7805, a three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of secondary of 230/12v step down transformer. The RFID module requires a separate +5v power supply.
