What has changed? What are the differences and similarities between the two device? You might have alot of questions to ask, but below youll be finding answers to whatever questions you have in mind. Detailed comparison between Droipad 7C Pro and Droipad 7C are written below.
Display:
Droipad 7C Pro -> 7-inch IPS display, 600 x 1024 pixel resolution, 170ppi
Droipad 7C -> 7-inch IPS display, 600 x 1024 pixel resolution, 170ppi
Note: Tecno has decided to leave the display as it is. A slight upgrade in resolution would have been good, but again, we are let down. Nothing changes in this aspect.
Processor and RAM:
Droipad 7C Pro -> 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8321 processor, 1GB RAM
Droipad 7C -> 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor, 1GB RAM
Note: The quad-core MT8321 chipset used in 7C Pro is an Integrated 3G SoC specifically made and optimize for tablet use only, unlike the dual-core MT6572 entry-level chipset built for low-end smartphones. Though both tablets maintains 1GB of RAM, the Tecno 7C Pro will offer better speed and performance than Tecno 7C.
Camera:
Droipad 7C Pro -> 2-megapixel rear camera, LED flash; 2-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash
Droipad 7C -> 2-megapixel rear camera, LED flash; 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera
Note: Nothing changes in megapixel of cameras equipped at the rear of both device, so we do not expect any changes in picture quality. The front camera has been bump up from VGA to 2-megapixel, and a secondary front LED flash is now included as a bonus. Atleast you can now take a selfie, something you will probably hate to do on Droipad 7C 0.3MP front camera.
Storage:
Droipad 7C Pro -> 16GB of built-in storage, expandable up to 32GB
Droipad 7C -> 8GB of built-in storage, expandable up to 32GB
Note: The built-in storage have experience an upgrade too. You now have twice the amount of storage of Droipad 7C on 7C Pro, thats a lot of space to save apps, data and multimedia files.
Connectivity:
Droipad 7C Pro -> Dual-SIM (GSM+GSM), Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, 3G HSPA+, GPRS/EDGE, GPS, FM radio, and Micro-USB with OTG
Droipad 7C -> Dual-SIM (GSM+GSM), Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, 3G HSPA+, GPRS/EDGE, GPS, FM radio, and Micro-USB
Note: What makes Droipad 7C a winning gadget is its ability to accomodate two SIM cards (both of which supports voice-calling) at same time despite its cheap price tag. Tecno is not pulling this off as Droipad 7C Pro still maintains this as well. It is good to see USB OTG (on-the-go) onboard.
Battery:
Droipad 7C Pro -> 3,000mAh battery
Droipad 7C -> 3,000mAh battery
Note: The most crucial aspect of any mobile device that cannot be neglect is the battery capacity. Fortunately, the Droipad 7C Pro offers a good one just as its predecessor. The 3,000mAh should get you through a day without charging.
Operating System:
Droipad 7C Pro -> Android 5.1 Lollipop, HiOS
Droipad 7C -> Android 5.0 Lollipop
Note: The pre-loaded Android operating system has stepped up from version 5.0 to 5.1 Lollipop. Tecno has also introduced its new UI (user interface) called HiOS, which offers additional enhancement over stock Android interface for better user experience. These changes may affect the overall performance of the Droipad 7C Pro positively over Droipad 7C, making it an ideal choice to upgrade.
As you can see from their comparison above, lots has changed indeed. But what about the price? The Droipad 7C is being sold in Nigeria on Jumia for #32,999 NGN, while the new Droipad 7C Pro costs #40,000 NGN as at the time of writing. If you dont mind sacrificing #7,000 NGN for faster processor, higher built-in storage and enhanced Android operating system version, then go for it. It worth it.
